Meet our VolunteerS of the Month, Cecilia and Brianna!
It is officially Kitty Reading Book Club Program season and there isn’t a better way to kick it off than introducing our mother-daughter duo Volunteers of the Month!
The Kitty Reading Book Club is a purrfect way for kiddos between the ages of 8-13 to engage with our cats, all while enhancing their reading skills. Brianna joined our Kitty Reading Book Club in June of 2018 along with her mother, Cecilia. This dynamic duo come by every weekend as part of this program and Brianna does a phenomenal job in making sure that all of our adoptable kitty cats get some reading time and some love as well! She is patient and beyond sweet with each cat and you are sure to hear an adorable story about one of our cats after her reading.
It is amazing to see parents/guardians engage with their kiddos through this program, but it is also amazing when the parents come back on their own because they can’t help but share their love with our shelter pets! Cecilia loved working with our cats so much that she graciously decided to come nearly every single day to enrich and spend time with our adoptable shelter cats. Cecilia is sure to be seen with a kitten, or two, in her arms (or on her shoulder) as she takes care of potential adopters. Her above and beyond excellent customer service and obvious love for each cat shines through our Cat Adoption area and results in several happy furever homes for our shelter cats.
We cannot thank both Brianna and Cecilia enough for their time, care, and dedication. Thanks to these shelter pet heroes, out shelter cats have a less-stressed environment and get the love and attention that they need. Please join us in thanking Cecilia and Brianna for being our Volunteer(s) of the month!
