Press Release: El Paso Animal Services Annual ‘Clear the Shelters’ Kicks Off Early With a Free Adoption Bash

WHAT:         City Hosts “Clear the Shelters” National Adoption Event

WHERE:       El Paso Animal Services Center, 5001 Fred Wilson Ave.

WHEN:         10:30 am – 6:00 pm, Saturday, July 29

The City of El Paso Animal Services is once again participating in the largest national adoption campaign “Clear the Shelters” for the eighth year in a row.

Animal Services will be kicking off “Clear the Shelters” with an Adoption Bash on Saturday, July 29, at the main Animal Services Center which will begin the month long campaign of free adoptions for all shelter pets through August 31.

All adoptions will include the pet’s spay/neuter procedure, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and city license.

During previous “Clear the Shelters” events, El Paso Animal Services found homes for hundreds of shelter pets. The event comes at a vital time, as the shelter’s kennels remain filled with over 600 pets looking for fur-ever homes.

For anyone not looking to commit long term to a pet, fostering is also an option. Fostering a pet is free, and the shelter provides all the food, supplies and medical care the pet would need.

For those who cannot foster or adopt a pet at this time, donating pet food and supplies is also another way to help El Paso’s pets.
