EL PASO, Texas – The City of El Paso Animal Services is excited to announce the continuation of enhanced lifesaving programs thanks to a generous $125,000 grant from Petco Love, a national nonprofit organization.
The community is invited to a celebration on Thursday, June 20, from noon to 3 p.m. at Petco North Hills, 10771 Gateway S Blvd. This event commemorates the Animal Services Department’s lifesaving investment, offers residents an opportunity to learn more about the department’s enhanced programs, witness the award ceremony at 1 p.m., and take advantage of free microchips and adoption programs.
“Petco Love’s ongoing partnership is invaluable in our efforts to better the lives of pets in our community,” said Director of El Paso Animal Services Terry Kebschull. “Their commitment enables us to reach a larger number of animals, tackling pet overpopulation and improving the welfare of our community’s pets.”
The lifesaving investment will fund critical endeavors such as expanding spay/neuter surgeries, administering essential vaccinations, microchipping services, and providing necessary medical treatments and surgeries in collaboration with the El Paso Veterinary Medical Association.
Since September 2023, the program has served over 1,000 owned dogs, providing affordable spay/neuter services, vaccines, microchips, and current city registrations.
Petco Love, a national nonprofit organization leading change for pets by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier, has invested nearly $400 million in lifesaving initiatives since its founding in 1999. Petco Love helps find loving homes for pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations across North America, with 6.8 million pets adopted and counting.
