First-ever flight to transport cats to areas needing shelter pets
EL PASO, TX – This Wednesday, February 13, nearly 90 shelter pets from El Paso Animal Services will take to the skies to California rescue shelters in need of lovable shelter pets.
More than 20 dogs and nearly 70 cats will be a part of the rescue flight, and this will be the first time Animal Services transfers cats via air. This flight comes at a crucial time as Animal Services continues to make space both at the Animal Services Center and in foster homes to prepare for upcoming peak intake during spring and summer seasons.
This lifesaving rescue flight is made possible through a collaboration of partners to include: Wings of Rescue, Humane Society Silicon Valley and Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation.
If the community would like to donate to Wings of Rescue to help fund this El Paso flight and others, they can do so online at www.wingsofrescue.org/donate.
