Be Better PAWliday Camp
PAWliday Day Camps offer students in-shelter, hands-on programming during the school vacation breaks, in-service days or school holidays. Campers ages 6 through 10 years of age will have age-appropriate curriculum and learning objectives. Through crafts, games, and exercising our dogs, campers will be able to explore how we care for our animals, how to be safe around them and how to take care of their own pets at home. Each camp will have a specific lesson tailored to the holiday on which it is held.
Be Better stands for the some of the key components of being a loving and responsible pet owner:
B- Bath & Brush: Grooming keeps your pet healthy & clean.
E- Exams: All pets need yearly exams by a veterinarian in order to stay healthy!
T- Train: Training & enrichment for any kind of pet is important to keep their brains healthy, too.
T- Tags: Tags and microchips help pets find their way home if they are ever lost.
E- Eating (and Drinking): Access to nutritious food and water every day is the foundation of being a good pet parent.
R- Respect: Giving affection appropriately, and knowing your pet’s boundaries, is important for any human-animal bond.

Humane Animal Practices & Bite Prevention
Keeping the Relationship Safe Between your Child and your Pet. We never want bad things to happen to our children especially when it involves the family pet. Our children do not think that a cuddly dog will ever bite them, but according to KidsHealth 4.7 million dogs’ bites happen every year in the United States. Understanding dog body language is a key way to prevent a dog bite. In this class, parents will be able to recognize dog behavior, dog body language, consent between child and pet.
This class is developed for parents and guardians wanting to learn bite prevention skills for their children, but we welcome anyone ages 18 years and older.
