FREE MICROCHIPS TO THE FIRST 100 PETS
Each year, thousands of pets go missing in El Paso, and the Animal Services Animal Protection team is addressing this by providing families and pets with free microchips.
Free microchipping will begin at 10 am, and will end once all 100 microchips are given out, or until 2 pm. We recommend arriving early as at previous events all microchips were given within the first hour. We will also be offering free microchip checks and updating for pets that already have a microchip but need their information updated.
Pet owners must bring a valid photo ID, and pets are required to be on a leash or in a carrier. Microchips will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Animal Services is nearing its goal of having a 90% live-release rate of its pets in the facility, but despite this success, a large number of lost pets continue to enter the Animal Services Center every month. When pet owners keep their pets in their homes, they are helping El Paso with its goal of becoming a “no-kill” community.
