FREE pet microchips at the Humane Society K9 Classic Walk!
FREE MICROCHIPS TO THE FIRST 100 PETS
Each year, thousands of pets go missing in El Paso, and the Animal Services Animal Protection team is addressing this by providing families and pets with free microchips.
Free microchipping will begin at 10 am, and will end once all 100 microchips are given out. We recommend arriving early as at previous events all microchips were given within the first hour.
Pet owners must bring a valid photo ID, and pets are required to be on a leash. Microchips will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Animal Services is nearing its goal of having a 90% live-release rate of its pets in the facility, but despite this success, a large number of lost pets continue to enter the Animal Services Center every month. When pet owners keep their pets in their homes, they are helping El Paso with its goal of becoming a “no-kill” community.

The 30th Annual K-9 Classic is not only a fun “walk for all animals” but is a chance for the Humane Society to raise money for all of the pets entrusted to its care. All of the money raised from your registration and the donor donations will go right back to the animals here at the shelter.
- All well-behaved, leashed pets are welcomed.
- The Park regulations require that your pet be leashed and under control at all times.
- Please clean up after your pet!
- All dogs must have a current rabies vaccination and city registration license.
- At the discretion of the HSEP Staff, pets whose behavior is unruly or might prove hazardous may be requested to leave the premises. If you think your pet may get stressed out, please consider doing the walk on behalf of the pet and let him or her stay home.
