Get Started Volunteering

HOW DO I BECOME AN EPAS VOLUNTEER?

IF YOU ARE 14 YEARS OR OLDER:

1. Create an account on our Volunteer Portal, MyImpact and submit a volunteer application.

2. Attend an in-person Volunteer Orientation (schedule below) or take our Virtual Volunteer Orientation on your MyImpact app.

3. If you choose to take the Virtual Volunteer Orientation, you’ll be directed to complete a quick quiz. Once you complete the quiz, email EPASVolunteer@elpasotexas.gov to schedule a Shelter Tour.

4. At your Shelter Tour or in-person Volunteer Orientation, you’ll tour your volunteer location, learn more about volunteer programs and protocols, and be able to begin your volunteer journey with EPAS!

*All volunteers between the ages of 14-16 must volunteer with a parent or guardian, who will also become a volunteer. For ages 16 & 17, parents or guardians must attend the Volunteer Orientation and Level 1 Animal Handling Training.*
