Press Release-Pep Rally for Pets

Free adoptions during event, cheer performances

EL PASO, Texas – Give me an A – D – O – P – T – what does that spell? Adopt! Put on your best spirit gear and come cheer with El Paso Animal Services at its first “Pep Rally for Pets,” Saturday, September 29 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The “Pep Rally for Pets” will close out the High School Adoption Challenge promotion, which began on September 10, where local high schools were encouraged to share, adopt and vote for their school to spur a friendly competition, and help find forever homes for as many shelter pets as possible. Local high school students showed their school spirit by sharing the event with friends, family and teachers, and when members of the community came into adopt, adopters were given the opportunity to vote for the local high school of their choice. The three-week-long High School Adoption Challenge will conclude at the end of the Pep Rally, where the Animal Services Team will tally up the voting ballots and will present the High School Adoption Challenge trophy to the winning school who had the most votes, or adoptions.

The “Pep Rally for Pets” will be fun for the whole family, and local cheer squads will perform to help encourage the spirit of adopting! Adoption fees will also be waived on all Animal Services’ animals, and all adoptions will include the pet’s spay/neuter procedure, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and city license.
