Volunteer of the Month-YISD Students

Meet our VolunteerS of the Month, the YISD Partnership!

The Animal Services Volunteer Program has several amazing partnerships that make sure our shelter pets get consistent and much-needed love and attention. We want to take this opportunity to thank one of those amazing partnerships as being our Volunteer(s) of the Month!

The Ysleta Independent School District is one of Animal Services’ newest and most beloved partnerships. This partnership is a community-based vocational training program that provides its students the opportunity to enhance their functional, academic, social, and leadership skills as they get structured, hands-on animal handling training here at our shelter. Several students from this YISD partnership come every weekday morning for a few hours to provide love, walks, and some good ol’ tactile loving for our shelter dogs and cats. The hundreds of shelter pets in our care need daily human interaction and these phenomenal students are always diligent in making sure that as many animals as possible are enriched and cared, throught the guidance of their coaches and our Enrichment Program. We truly appreciate every single one of these outstanding volunteers for providing the much-needed love and attention for our shelter pets. Please join us in thanking ALL the students and coaches that are part of the amazing YISD partnership for their dedication and for all being our Volunteers of the Month!:

Alexandra, Angelica, Daniel, Denise, Estela, Jessie, Joe, Krissie, Luis, Maria, Miguel, Nathan, Pete, and Tayah.
