Press Release: El Paso Animal Services to Hosts ‘Pawliday Pawty’ Volunteer & Foster Event

Volunteers Needed to Walk and Feed Adoptable Dogs

EL PASO, Texas – The City of El Paso Animal Services Department and community partners, Rescue Runners 915 and Double Dog Dare Bakery are hosting a ‘Pawliday Party’ volunteer and foster event to feed homeless pups at the shelter from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, December 23.

More than 700 pets are waiting for forever homes at the shelter. Animal Services is asking the community for help by volunteering to walk pets before they enjoy their Pawliday plates (Children under 18 years of age can walk dogs with a parent/guardian).

“Thanks to our partners, Rescue Runners 915, and for the generous donations made by Double Dog Dare Bakery and the community, our shelter pets are going to truly feel the holiday spirit,” said El Paso Animal Services Director Terry Kebschull.

The event is in conjunction with the ‘Home for the Holidays’ adoption and foster promotion. The community is also invited to foster one of the available shelter dogs over the holiday break. Families willing to open their home to a foster pet temporarily are encouraged to take the pet home on December 23, and can bring the pet back to the shelter on January 2, 2023, or request to extend the foster period. Fostering is free and all necessary supplies will be provided to fosters.
