Press Release: Animal Services Gears Up For Litter Season by Hosting a “Kitten Shower”

Event Aims to Recruit Foster Families, Educate Community, and Spur Donations

WHAT:      “Kitten Shower” fostering, education, and donation event  

WHEN:      9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2023 

WHERE:   El Paso Animal Services Center, 5001 Fred Wilson Ave.

The City of El Paso Animal Services will host a fun-filled “Kitten Shower” on Saturday, May 27, in preparation for the busy litter season. The public is invited to attend from 9 a.m. to noon at the main El Paso Animal Services Center, 5001 Fred Wilson Ave.

Staff and volunteer organizations will be on hand to share information about available programs such as the Foster Program and Community Cat Program and will also help families sign up to be new foster parents. In addition, El Paso Animal Services will also be accepting much-needed donations to help their lifesaving programs. The event will feature games, arts and crafts, refreshments, and educational demonstrations. Attendees will also have the opportunity to visit and play with foster kittens.

El Paso Animal Services is requesting donations of:

  • ·   Kitten or Puppy Formula
  • ·   Pet Nursing Bottles
  • ·   Snuggle Safe Heating Disks
  • ·   Used or New Wire Carriers
  • ·   Used or New Plastic Carriers
  • ·   Kitten Food (Dry or Wet)
  • ·   Cat Food
  • ·   Blankets and Towels
  • ·   Cat Toys
  • ·   Uncooked Rice and Unused Socks
