El Paso Animal Services is looking for families who are ready to commit to the center’s most lovable and loyal pets. The department’s “Large & Loyal” adoption special features free adoptions for all dogs over 20 pounds.
El Paso Animal Services reached a milestone in March, achieving its highest monthly save-rate in department history. Last month, Animal Services saved 92.53% of the more than 2,400 animals that entered the Animal Services Center in March.
It is officially Kitty Reading Book Club Program season and there isn’t a better way to kick it off than introducing our mother-daughter duo Volunteers of the Month!
El Paso Animal Services achieved a third month of reaching a 90% or higher live-release rate as it nears its no-kill goal. To celebrate the save rate, the department is hosting a “90 by 2020” adoption event, starting Friday, March 8 through Sunday, March 10 where adoptions will be free for the first 90 pets, and just $9 for every pet thereafter.
El Paso Animal Services will be offering free microchips to the first 100 pets at the Parks & Recreation Pet Festival beginning at 9 a.m. this Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Westside Community Park, 7400 High Ridge.

This Wednesday, February 13, nearly 90 shelter pets from El Paso Animal Services will take to the skies to California rescue shelters in need of lovable shelter pets.
El Paso Animal Services will be offering free microchips and vaccines (Distemper/Parvo for dogs or FVRCP for cats) to the first 100 pets that visit Tierra Buena Park in far-east El Paso from 9 a.m. to noon this Sunday, Jan. 13.
Due to inclement weather, the Department of Animal Services has closed down the outdoor kennels located at the Animal Services Center (5001 Fred Wilson), and has moved dogs to a temporary offsite shelter at Sunrise Park (3800 Sunrise Ave).
